Apparently this may not be related to organic food, but there is a strong connection. Sumas 2 would have polluted the whole lower mainland contaminating our local food, including organic.

To members and friends of HANS;
re Sumas2 - last week's news item!
March 4, 04
No doubt you have perhaps heard by now that the National Energy Board has decided NOT to allow Sumas Energy 2 to go ahead in the Lower Fraser Valley. What you won't have heard, is that Milt Bowling, and Robert Riedlinger, both active HANS members, are an important part of the team who helped create this decision - a decision that will undoubtedly save many lives and prevent 3 tons of airborne waste from dumping on millions of BC citizens.
Every few days, for four years, Milt has come into the office to collect the copious amounts of literature faxed from the National Energy Board, and then actually read them. He read them for his son, his family, and for you and me. Robert (Riedlinger) was out there in the valley reading, too, for the same reasons.
There are many more to thank, but I don't know who they are as of this writing - I just thought you should know that when you hear that news item, we have Milt, Robert & the hundreds of other selfless individuals who did NOT give up. I don't know about you, but I'm proud of their effort and what they've achieved.
The official news release is at: www.neb-one.gc.ca.
Regards, Lorna
