Building on a decade of success in bringing locally produced, environmentally conscious food and artisan products to Vancouver consumers, Your Local Farmers Market Society (YLFMS) is currently seeking an experienced

Executive Director

to lead the planning, development and operations of our not-for-profit society and our premier Farmers Markets (East Vancouver, Nat Bailey Stadium and the West End-Nelson Park) as well as supervise the markets' full and part-time staff and volunteers.

As the ideal candidate, you have:

- clearly demonstrated your ability to provide strong leadership and direction
- a management and supervisory style that promotes collaboration, communication and innovative thinking
- full appreciation of the Farmers Market shopping experience
- experience with the particulars of vendor-direct marketing
- keen awareness of local/global food issues and of the role Farmers Markets play in promoting a sustainable food system
- demonstrated experience in developing annual budgets and fiscal management
- proven your ability to forge strong relationships with not-for-profit community organizations, government officials and with the community at-large
- a track record of managing people and programs through change and expansion
- experience working with, reporting to and mobilizing a volunteer Board of Directors
- excellent written and verbal communication skills

For good measure, you also have a passion for excellence, an entrepreneurial spirit, a valid BC driver's license, a sense of humour, no fear of getting your hands dirty or standing all day in the rain, an open mind and a healthy appetite for change.
