Vancouver! Lets do something about GM Food!

Hi,
I'm interested in getting people in Vancouver talking about GM Food.
I don't see why Vancouver, birthplace of such things as Greenpeace and Ad-Busters, shouldn't be in the forefront of pushing for mandatory labelling or GM-free zones. Genetic Engineering is in the news once in a while here but it is not a hearty topic of debate at all. Vancouverites seem to be uninformed, and stores that promote natural, healthy, or organic food don't seem to make any effort to educate their clientelle.
MY TWO MAIN REASONS FOR NOT BEING SATISFIED WITH SIMPLY BUYING ORGANIC TO AVOID GMOS:
1)
When you walk into one of these stores and they only offer some organic produce/products but not all, it's reasonable to ask that the organics they choose to offer be at minimum those that are Genetically Modified. I believe it would be easier to find these items organic if there was public pressure.
2)
For families that are low income, it is not always that easy to buy organic because of cost and location/convenience issues. If our food choices went from 2 options )ORGANIC/GMO-FREE & NON-ORGANIC) to 3 options )ORGANIC, GMO-FREE, & GMO) there would be a wider variety of price and GMO-FREE could be a viable alternative to ORGANIC if price is an issue.
I haven't ever been an activist but I'm ready to start, however, I don't know quite what to do. I figure maybe organize a small protest during one of the Biotech conferences could be a start.
Any ideas....
Anyone interested in brainstorming....
Anyone interested in being involved.... or getting me involved in what they are doing....
